Chinese New Year

It's Chinese New Year again! Our new place was quite untidy with boxes, etc but I managed to clean it up a bit. Finally, most things are in, except for study tables and curtains. And the espresso maker.

Back to work

I'm finally back to work since taking leave on 12-Dec-2005 ... been more than a month and I still have about 8 days left ... gotta to cut short my leave, company calls.

The hse ... I think it's a mess. I move some of my old furniture in ... well, does look quite odd, doesn't seems to fit in ... but what the heck, wait till my coffers fill up again ... hehe.

More stuff in ... slowly

Move the TV in the day earlier. It an old unit in my present home. The TV fell out of the trolley when I was pulling it out of the lift. I quickly stuck out my foot and it managed to cushion the impact of the fall. Fortunately, the TV was ok and my foot suffered only minor bruises.


We have also start to move some of my things, like books, over. We also went Ikea to buy chairs, containers, etc.


We bought this whistling kettle at Seiyu. Think it's a steal as it only cost $13.41.

PLC downlight spoilt

Less than a month??? One of my PLC square dowlinghts is spoilt and it's not the bulb. And one of the dining light halogen bulbs is down ... the fourth in less than 1 month ... again. Hmm ... lesson learnt ... next time to buy some more common lights.

Washer is in but expresso maker ...

Sucks man, yesterday Mayer delivered a kitchen mixer instead of the expresso maker ... do this only happen to us? First dining chairs were wrong, now this ... sigh ...

Furniture is IN

Well, nothing too major happened ... just the dining chairs were wrong (I ordered chairs with no cushions) and the platform bed cannot fit. In the end, the foreman agree to bring back the side tables to amend.

Flat in our hands

We finally took over the flat yesterday, the last day of 2005!

Overall it's quite smooth. We went in the morning to do a check of all the rectifications, then went to the ID office to make the final payment. Meanwhile, our ladder's missing. They took it away, assuming it's theirs!

The ID is half an hour late! She doen't want payment? Anyway, there will be a survey sent to us later next week? Hmm ... I wonder who will be reading the survey and whether the survey matters to anyone?

I went back in the afternoon to take back the ladder and mop the place ... that still took one hour plus ... and still not very clean after that ...
